Golf Nutrition: Chiquita Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

There is no disputing, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially if it involves playing golf.

Whip up this Banana Oatmeal Smoothie before your morning tee time and you’ll have the energy you need to get through your round.

Ingredients: 
- 2 whole Chiquita Bananas (best with brown flecks on peel)
- 2 cups Ice
- 1/3 cup Yogurt - preferably Greek yogurt flavored with honey
- 1/2 cup Cooked oatmeal
- 1/3 cup Almonds
- Optional: 1 tbsp of peanut butter
- Optional: ground flax-seed
- Optional: a little milk to thin it out

Pour all ingredients in blender pouring ice in last. Blend on high for 30 seconds or until smoothie thickens.

19th Hole: Bourbon & Apple Cider Cocktail

{ Bourbon & Apple Cider Cocktail }

With tomorrow being the first day of fall we thought we would share one of our favorite cocktails for the season: Bourbon and Apple Cider Cocktail.

Take a sip of cider and close your eyes. Surely there is no taste that is more evocative of clear, crisp, golden autumn day on the golf course!

Ingredients:

• 2 parts Apple Cider, refrigerated
• 2 parts Ginger Ale, refrigerated
• 1 part Bourbon

Directions:

1. Mix together cider and bourbon and refrigerate for at least one hour
2. Before serving, add ginger ale to bourbon and cider and serve over crushed ice
3. Garnish with apple slice 
4. Sip slow and enjoy!

19th Hole: Pink Grapefruit Margaritas

These margaritas will certainly liven up your weekend, both refreshing and delicious. They are super simple to make, the only catch being, you need fresh limes, it really makes a difference. Make these at your next party, they are sure to be a hit.

Pink Grapefruit Margaritas
From: Barefoot Contessa’s  How Easy Is That

• 1 cup        ruby red grapefruit juice
• 1/2  cup    fresh squeezed lime juice (about 4 limes)
• 1 cup        triple sec orange liqueur
• 3 cups      ice
• 1 cup        silver tequila
• 1 lime cut in wedges, optional Kosher salt.

If you prefer to rim the glasses take a lime wedge and rim, then dip in salt, if you do not like a salted rim sprinkle a touch of salt in each glass, the salt really brings out the flavor.

Combine the grapefruit juice, lime juice, triple sec and ice in a blender. Pour into a large pitcher (or just keep it in the blender) and pour in the tequila, stir. (I personally just added it all to the blender- I like slushy, that is totally up to you)

Makes 4 drinks.
* Just as a note: it is important to use Ruby Red grapefruit juice, it is much sweeter than regular and it has the lovely pink color.
