Peggy Ference is Making 'HerStory' at the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach!

A few months ago we introduced you to Peggy Ference in her quest to win the Golf Digest U.S. Open Challenge. Well, guess what? She won!! You go girl!

Why is this so exciting? Well, for the first time in the history of women’s golf – and probably in the history of the men’s U.S. Open – an amateur female golfer, Peggy Ference, age 51, from Skillman, NJ, will play the Open course from the 7,040 yard tournament tees under tournament conditions on June 9th in the Golf Digest U.S. Open Challenge being held at Pebble Beach. Her goal is to break 100 – a challenge Tiger Woods put in place a few years ago (I am sure there is a joke in there somewhere, but I won't go there now.)

The actual challenge will be played on June 9th, but will be taped for a 90-minute TV special and aired right before NBC begins their live coverage of the Open on Sunday, June 20th.

So, please join Golf4Her in supporting Peggy as she tries to break 100. Post your support for Peggy on the Women In The Golf Industry Facebook fan page. She is a member of the group and would probably love to know we're rooting for her!
