Benefits of Bamboo
AUR Golf is one of the newest and most innovative golf and lifestyle collections to hit the fairways. AUR Golf brings women aspiring golf fashions to truly encompass all that you are.

Many of their garments are designed with bamboo fabrics. This is a popular trend in golf fashion for several reasons:
  • Thermal regulating - Bamboo clothing has excellent wicking properties, ideal for warm summer days.
  • Absorbs moisture - Bamboo cloth has superior absorption, four times more absorbent than cotton.
  • Breathable - The porous qualities of bamboo fiber account for its added breathability.
  • Anti-bacterial - Bamboo fabric contains a naturally occurring anti-microbial agent, keeping your odor free.
  • Environmentally friendly - Bamboo is one of the world's most sustainable resources.

Have you heard about S. Cafe?
What makes AUR Golf stand out from the rest is that they design their garment with exclusive fabrics and processes such as S. Cafe. What is S. Cafe you ask? By using a patented process, coffee grounds are transformed into yarn, which is then used to produce the garments. Most coffee grounds end up in our landfills, which contribute to our overhaul solid waste management problem. By producing a garment using this process, AUR Golf helps ease landfill concerns.

    London's Calling!

    { available at Golf4Her.com }

    The new London collection by 4all by JoFit features punky plaids and asymmetrical necklines that call out to London's punk rock scene. This color combo ties together lavender, orchid, black and dark grey. We have to admit, this is one of our favorite color combo of the season! While purple is the color of royalty, lavender is the color of femininity. It's a grown up pink.

    Featured look:
    8. Bonjoc Ballmarker Stardust w/ Lavender Swarovksi crystals

    More Reasons to Love Abacus this Fall

    The season has officially transitioned from summer to fall here in the Northeast United Sates, so it's time to say good bye to the skorts and hello to sweaters.

    Whether you are a die-hard like me who enjoys playing golf in all the unpredictable weather conditions Mother Nature can throw at us or a weekend-warrior rooting your kids on at an early morning scrimmage, you need versatile garments to keep you warm, dry and comfortable no matter what you're doing!

    Abacus wind garments are one of our absolute favs this fall. Abacus brings us golf and lifestyle apparel you can count on no matter what the condition. The best part is, abacus apparel is versatile. It can take you from the golf course to the office or from a hiking trail to the bunny hill.

    Abacus is not only functional, their garments are stylish with a classic design, so they last season after season. They effectively protect against wind, light rain and cold. But just as important is the fact that they are lightweight and as comfortable as a sweater. The raindrops don’t stick to the surface. You continue to be dry and warm. And folded up they take a minimum of room in your golf bag.

    Amongst other fabrics they use softshell in their wind garments. It’s wind and watertight with good breathing abilities and is available in stretch fabric. The garments are pliable and comfortable to play golf in, even when it’s cold. Who knew golf apparel could be so fashionable!?

    Our favorite foursome includes these great wind garments:
    {abacus wind | Golf4Her.com}
    1. abacus Swanston Knitted Wind Stop (Dark Red) | $120
    2. abacus Niblick Full Zip Wind Stop (Vanilla) | $140
    3. abacus Westray Cable Knit Wind Stop (Vanilla) | $140
    4. abacus Cowal Cable Knit Zip Wind Stop (Navy) | $170

    But abacus brings us more than just great outerwear, their 'On Tour' collection brings you from the office to the golf course with style and function.

    The abacus 'On Tour' collection refers to the garment you wear nearest the body and includes Polo shirts, trousers and other items. These garments are designed to be worn both inside and outside, on the course, at work, at leisure -- wherever!

    These garmets can be worn by themselves on hot days and under other garments on cold, windy or rainy days. These garments are made of cotton or in polyester drycool, a material that transports sweat and body moisture out through the fabric. No matter how warm it gets, your skin will feel cool and dry. Odor control for fresh-all-day confidence. Polygiene® is an active odor control technology for the treatment of high performance materials. By safely and effectively eliminating odor-causing bacteria from clothing and fabrics. Polygiene provides natural, long-lasting odor protection for active people.

    My new favorite obsession this fall has got to be the new abacus Alicia Rugger shown below. It comes in two of the hottest color trends for the fall 2010 season.

    {abacus On Tour collection | Golf4Her}

    1. abacus Alicia Rugger (Orchid) | $85
    2. abacus Hirsel Adjustable Web Belt (White) | $20
    3. abacus Alicia Rugger (Sulpher) | $85
    4. abacus Prestbury Classic Sportbag (Black) | $55

    Abacus' autumn/winter collection is a fusion between town and country. The line offers new colors, patterns and fabric updates in conjunction with a classic color palette that includes dark sea blue, light blue, dark red, navy blue and vanilla. A new addition is the creative, urban palette created specifically for the autumn 2010 collection. It features sporty sulphur yellow and eucalyptus green along with more neutral shades of grey, white and black.

    View the entire abacus autumn/winter collection at Golf4Her.com.

    So, if you are looking for a smart and fashionable suggestion on how to spruce up your fall wardrobe and incorporate versitile pieces that you can wear on and off the golf course, we suggest that you check-out abacus. Trust me, you are going to love everything!

    Making Your Mark!

    When it comes to golf, I am a sucker for anything that helps me personalize my game and express myself on the golf course! One of my favorite new accessories is the Tin Cup ball marking device. It enables you to "Make Your Mark" on your golf ball. Just pick your favorite design and which Sharpie color you want to use, and away you go.

    {Tin Cup available at Golf4Her.com}
    There are a bunch of fun designs to choose from. This month I am using the Tin Cup Awareness Ribbon design and coloring it in using my Pink Sharpie to support Breast Cancer Awareness. What's great about this one is, you can change it up to support any cause that you are passionate about.

    {Awareness Ribbon, includes Pink Sharpie}
    Some other fun designs include:
    1. Tin Cup 'Luck of the Irish' (4-leaf Clover) | $19.95 (includes Green Sharpie)
    2. Tin Cup 'Fleur Di Lis' | $17.95
    3. Tin Cup 'Lone Star' | $17. 95
    4. Tin Cup 'One Way' | $17.95

    When I heard that this product was voted One of the Best New Overall Products at the 2010 PGA Merchandise Show, I, of course needed to have it!

    Plus, it's easy and fun to use. The Tin Cup is composed of a 100% stainless steel shell and has either an engraved or stamped design on it.
    1. Use a permanent ink fine point or ultra fine point pen - we prefer Sharpies!
    2. Place a golf ball under the Tin Cup
    3. Trace or color the logo with the pen (color of your choice)
    4. Let the area dry a few minutes before use
    Get the kids involved. Give them a bunch of balls, their favorite Tin Cup design and a Sharpie (with caution!) and let them color away.

    Golf4Her has added this item to the 'Pretty In Pink' Webtique. A percentage of the sales from the Awareness Ribbon design will be donated to Birdies for Breast Cancer, a charity founded by LPGA tour member, Cristie Kerr. Learn more >>

    USGA Rules 12-2: Identifying Ball
    The responsibility for playing the proper ball rests with the player. Each player should put an identification mark on his ball. If a player has reason to believe a ball at rest is his and it is necessary to lift the ball in order to identify it, he may lift the ball, without penalty, in order to do so.

    Before lifting the ball, the player must announce his intention to his opponent in match play or his marker or a fellow-competitor in stroke play and mark the position of the ball. He may then lift the ball and identify it, provided that he gives his opponent, marker or fellow-competitor an opportunity to observe the lifting and replacement. The ball must not be cleaned beyond the extent necessary for identification when lifted under Rule 12-2.

    If the ball is the player's ball and he fails to comply with all or any part of this procedure, or he lifts his ball in order to identify it when not necessary to do so, he incurs a penalty of one stroke.

    If the lifted ball is the player's ball, he must replace it. If he fails to do so, he incurs the general penalty for a breach of Rule 12-2, but there is no additional penalty under this Rule.
